Platform modernization · AMP-DP / Naval LIFT
A repository migration that cut licensing costs and prepared content for AI
Governed the AMP-DP / Naval LIFT modernization, moving 1,000+ assets into SharePoint Online, saving an estimated $100K+ a year, and preparing the content for AI retrieval.
Situation
AMP-DP’s knowledge lived in Jira and Confluence on Naval LIFT. Licensing costs were high, and years of files were not organized in a way people or AI systems could use well.
Constraints
- Daily operations depended on the existing repository throughout the migration
- More than 1,000 assets with inconsistent structure and ownership
- Access rules had to be preserved and simplified at the same time
What I did
I led the requirements, information architecture, SharePoint Online build, and access design, and stood up onboarding with Power Apps and Power Automate. I owned the help desk and user communications, coordinated launch readiness and decommission, and stayed through post-launch governance.
The content was migrated to two standards at once:
- For people: findable, permissioned, and organized the way the work actually runs
- For AI retrieval: clean, current, well-structured content with clear owners
Why it worked
Treating the migration as the foundation for AI meant the organization paid for it once, not twice.
Result
The program retired a costly platform without disrupting daily work, and its content became structured, governed, and ready for AI retrieval.
